Our Church School
Our Local Churches
St Bartholomew Church Corton Methodist Church
We are very proud of our close relationship with our local Churches, We are also grateful to the members of the Church community who selflessly give their time and expertise to maintain our strong Christian ethos and our school’s high standards.
Collective Worship
At Corton Primary our whole school Collective Worship takes place daily in the school hall. These acts of worship are distinctively Christian and include stories which include morals, Bible readings and hymns. We look at one value in depth each half term which is embedded in the ethos of the school. Our children are encouraged to explore this from different perspectives. Collective Worship is led by the teachers, Collective Worship Leaders (pupils) and representatives from Church.
Governor Support
As our school is a Church of England School the Diocese appoints members of the Church Community to be governors of our school. These governors are called Foundation Governors and in addition to the normal responsibilities of a governor they ensure that the Church of England character of the school is preserved and developed. They do this through carrying out pupil perception surveys and attending school events.
Fundraising
Raising awareness and supporting charities is a large part of the Christian ethos of our school. The children take an active role in this, having a voice over which charities we support.
